• European equities opened mixed on Tuesday morning, as investors monitored corporate earnings and awaited the release of U.S. inflation data later in the day.

The pan-European Stoxx was little changed from the previous session shortly after the opening bell, with sectors and major bourses pointing in opposite directions.600

• Asian stocks edged up on Tuesday with technology shares buoyed by gains in their Wall Street peers, but gains were limited ahead of U.S. inflation data later in the day which could offer clues on the pace of interest rate rises this year.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up 0.2 percent after spending much of the day swerving in and out of negative territory.

• Japanese shares rose for a fourth day on Tuesday in choppy trade as a weak yen triggered buying in futures, offsetting weakness in steelmakers and automakers still battered by concerns about U.S. tariffs on imported steel and aluminium.

The Nikkei average gained 0.7 percent to 21,968.10 while the broader Topix added 0.6 percent to 1,751.03.Reference: Reuters, CNBC
