• European equities moved lower Thursday as investors closely monitored trade talks between the U.S. and China and digested new earnings reports.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 was off by 0.12 percent with most sectors trading in negative territory. Insurance and household goods fell the most in early deals after several downgrades. On the other hand, construction was the best performing sector, on earnings.
• Asian shares slipped on Thursday as hopes waned for real progress in Sino-U.S. trade talks, while the U.S. dollar consolidated recent bumper gains after the Federal Reserve reaffirmed the outlook for more rate hikes.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 0.5 percent, while South Korean stocks eased 0.4 percent.
