·         Emerging market stocks rose 1.43 percent, after Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan and the Nikkei in Tokyo both earlier closed higher.

·         Wall Street jumped on Thursday, and Apple inched closer to a $trillion stock market value, as tepid inflation data eased worries of faster U.S. interest rate hikes this year.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied 0.8 percent to end at 24,739.53 points, while the S&P 500 gained 0.94 percent to 2,723.07, its highest level since mid-March. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.89 percent to 7,404.98.

·         Asian stocks traded higher early on Friday, tracking gains seen on Wall Street overnight, with the Dow Jones industrial average notching its sixth consecutive day of gains in the last session.

·         The Nikkei 225 was up 0.68 percent in Tokyo and the broader Topix gained 0.55 percent. The materials sector was weaker in the morning, with the Topix mining subindex down 3.56 percent, but those declines were offset by gains in tech and financials, among other sectors.

·         In Seoul, the Kospi climbed 0.55 percent, aided by the move higher in the tech and auto sectors, with heavyweight Samsung Electronics up 0.78 percent.

·         Malaysian financial markets were shut on Thursday and Friday.
