· The Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI fell 178.88 points, or 0.72 percent, at 24,834.41, the S&P 500 .SPX lost 8.57 points, or 0.31 percent, to 2,724.44 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC dropped 15.58 points, or 0.21 percent, to 7,378.46.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he was not pleased with recent trade talks between the United States and China and earlier said there was no deal yet with China on ZTE Corp.
Trump floated a plan to fine ZTE and shake up its management after his administration considering rolling back more severe penalties imposed for violating U.S. sanctions by shipping goods to Iran.
· Asian stocks were mixed early on Wednesday after U.S. stocks fizzled on the back of U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks that he was "not satisfied" with the latest round of trade talks with China.
· In Tokyo, Nikkei 225 eased 0.22 percent and the Topix was off by 0.09 percent. The Topix mining subindex fell 3.39 percent. The oil subindex and shippers also declined in the early going.
· Meanwhile, the Kospi shed 0.08 percent in Seoul as gains in large cap technology names kept the index in positive territory despite declines seen in other major sectors. Samsung Electronics rose 2.2 percent and SK Hynix rose 3.14 percent, while steelmakers and financials slid.
