· The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell for a second straight day Tuesday as investors awaited the start of corporate earnings season later this week.
The Dow lost 190.44 points to finish the day at 26,150.58 as Boeing stock came under pressure again on concerns about 737 Max jet production delays. The S&P 500 fell 0.6% to 2,878.20, led by losses in industrials, energy and financial companies. The Nasdaq Composite dropped more than 0.5% to 7,909.28 as Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and Alphabet all declined.
· Stocks in Asia declined in Wednesday morning trade amid fresh concerns over the outlook for the global economy.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 declined 0.86 percent in early trade as shares of index heavyweights Softbank Group and Fanuc fell. The Topix index also fell 0.96 percent.
South Korea’s Kospi slipped 0.35 percent as chipmaker SK Hynix saw its stock drop more than 1 percent.
Over in Australia, the ASX 200 fell 0.35 percent as the sectors traded mixed. Later on Wednesday, the Australian central bank’s deputy governor is due to give a speech that analysts have pegged as being potentially significant.
