· Oil jumps nearly 6% on stimulus hopes, Norway production shutdowns
Oil prices surged more than 5% on Monday after doctors said U.S. President Donald Trump could soon be discharged from the hospital where he is being treated for COVID-19, while six Norwegian offshore oil and gas fields were shut as more workers joined a strike.
Brent crude rose $2.30, or 5.9%, to $41.57 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate crude gained $2.17, or 5.9%, to settle at $39.22 per barrel.
