Asia-Pacific markets subdued as coronavirus fears surge again; dollar strengthens
Stocks across Asia-Pacific were subdued in early trade on Friday, with dampened sentiment on the coronavirus front.
Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar strengthened as uncertainty rose as the greenback is a safe haven currency.
apan’s Nikkei 225 edged lower in early trade, and the Topix declined 0.4%. In South Korea, the Kospi was flat.
Over in Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 was also close to the flatline.
